Step 1: Gather Materials
To blow dry your short hair, you’ll need a blow dryer and a flat brush. It’s best if your blow dryer has a nozzle so that you can direct the air and manipulate the hair.
Step 2: Light-Hold Spray
Apply a light-hold spray to your hair. You can use a spray that will give volume, protect color or perform any function depending on your hair preference. Lightly mist this over your hair to coat it evenly. This will give you control while blow drying the hair.
Step 3: Flat Wrapping
When drying short hair, you want to add movement into the hair so that it does not lay flat on the head. A technique called flat wrapping can help you achieve this look.
Use the brush and the air of the dryer to push the hair back and forth, wrapping over the head.
Start at the front of the head and push the hair in one direction, following the brush with the dryer. Then push the hair in the opposite direction with the brush and dryer. Move around the head as it dries.
Step 4: Style
Once the hair is completely dry, use a comb or brush to place the hair where you want it.
